Lynton's Match Report

Adelaide Oval is such a great place to watch the footy, except for the last few times we have played there. Once again we are setting records for all the wrong reasons and opposition supporters are having a field day (I can't help but notice that the numbers have swelled considerably since the Blues horror run of how many YEARS.??)

And yet again we were in a position to win a game at 3 quarter time that Port sides of the past would have grabbed. I am not saying they didn't try but they were simply not tough enough or good enough. If Sturt had kicked like the good side they claim to be we would have been caned, but full marks to many of our guys who refused to lay down in spite of the barrage!!!

The Ressies were in a similar position but couldn't finish off either and certainly missed the voice of Leysey. Steven is trying everything by changing the side with both personnel and positioning and all the moves have worked to a degree e.g. the inclusion of Davey last week, the move of Fiegs to the forward line this week, the inclusion of Burdett this week. (I didn't notice him a great deal but the taste never hurts.)

Better players as I saw them were Jules (welcome back BIG time), Rhino (if only Cain can find the form to give greater support), Illett (love the way he dives into packs!), Corey, Locky, Fiegs, Carts and a special mention to young Ebo (He looks and plays LIKE a Port player!!!)

After the next two weeks (Eagles and North) I am looking forward to the 2 week break for all the wrong reasons - 2 wins before the break are not only possible but MANDATORY now.

Till next week, LYNTON.
