Lynton's Match Report
At last! At last! The drought is broken. I can only feel relief that we can go to the break without that "losing feeling". THERE IS NO PLACE FOR IT AT PORT ADELAIDE - LEAVE IT FOR THOSE OTHER CLUBS. (sorry about the little gloat but like so many I have done it hard these last couple of months). Maybe we needed a change in weather as we certainly got that but at least the rain held off for most of both games.

Firstly the Ressies - Spoke to Hayden Kluver during the week and he is very happy at Port but isn't so rapt in the cold (he hasn't seen cold yet). He was one to show a bit of flair today as were many of his teammates in a game that they controlled all day to win by 15 plus. And it was great to hear "voice" out there even though Leysey was missing.

They had many good players but one I really noticed was Robbo and his setting up of the forward movement (I won't nominate best as I didn't see the whole game). I also spoke to Woody and he expects to be back in 2-3 weeks. (I guess that means after the break)

So - on to the main game; We started very well by attacking the ball and being very direct and had Fiegs finishing off with Davey in great support. What a change from past weeks - but all of a sudden we became indirect, hesitant and second to the ball and we paid for it on the scoreboard.

This continued in the 2nd and for part of the third and similarly in the last. BUT as hasn't happened in the last few weeks once North got within I think 5 goals the guys settled down to a tough hard team game that got them over the line by a good margin.

Players that stood out to me were Fiegs, Davey, Illett (he doesn't mind the hard ball), Rhino, Jules, Meady and a special mention to Leysey. Back to the vintage stuff.

Corey and Ebo deserve mention also. That's almost the side but heh! isn't that a change!!! Well I just want to sit back and enjoy but the Power game is still to be won. I know the Tingles tried to ruin the weekend earlier but what about the Ravens!! - well done girls you were in a similar bad stretch.

See you in a few weeks, Lynton
