Lynton's Match Report
It's taken me a little while to settle down to pen this as it was a pretty dismal effort today against the WINLESS bays. The first quarter set the scene and don't let the scores fool you as the better TEAM for most of the day won.

The lack of leadership from many senior players was in stark contrast to that shown by Leysey and the fledgling reserves side. It had 11 under 19's and won all 4 quarters to win by 71 points. Koula played for Glenelg and started on Jarred Ilett then moved onto Jeremy Johncock at fullback and at one stage was on Finney (a mystery player not listed) who is on the Tingles list. I didn't think he had a great day out at all as the Maggies players all held their own or better. Finney deserves mention for a couple of good grabs and goals - he HAS to be a Tingle!!!!! Anyway well done Ressies once again.

To return to the senior game - it was obvious that we missed Rhino even though young Coudraye tried valiantly. As an under 19 first gamer he found it tough up against the Bay rucks. Tony Brown also missed the tap dropping in his lap.

The better players as I saw them were (there were none awarded at the Club after the game) Locky for a strong game at CENTRE HALF BACK (you whinging lot on 5AA take note), Eug, Browny, Wilbur and a special mention to Wadey for his game in ruck after I think the first quarter.

Repetition is boring but we do lack 3 or 4 class players at the moment and not much is gained from recycling players to fill gaps unless they perform. Matt Lokan and Big Sam were the best of the forwards with 3 each but never looked like taking the game apart and some pretty ordinary long kicking (bombing) resulted in at least 8 of the 18 points kicked - not to mention some very ordinary set shots at goal. Well we did only lose by 3 points but we need a huge lift for next week. I'm looking forward to writing a positive report next week, but first there is tomorrow and The Wet Toast to get over.

Bye for now - Lynton
